A 90-minute in-home lighting consultation with a studio that handles both halves of the problem: how a room should feel, and what it takes to actually wire it that way. You leave with a written, room-by-room plan.
Bulb temperature, placement, layering, and dimming change how a room feels more than almost any other single decision in it. Most homes run on whatever the builder installed, and it stays that way until it gets expensive to change.
Britten trained in architectural lighting design as part of her design and environmental psychology background at the University of Michigan. She reads how a room will feel before anything goes in.
Brandon comes at it from the build side. He has designed stage lighting, built multilayered light box pieces and a large ultraviolet installation, and studied electrical engineering — then spent years on job sites working alongside electricians. He knows what a fixture needs behind the wall, what it costs to run, and how to write a plan an electrician can work from without a translation step.
Most lighting advice comes from one side or the other. You get both in the same visit.

Evening visits tend to be the most useful. Most lighting problems only show themselves after dark, and seeing the room both ways in one visit is worth the scheduling.

Room by room, in daylight and after dark if possible, to get a real feel for what's working and what isn't.

The mood you're after, how you actually use each room, and what's been bothering you about the lighting — whether that's a space that feels flat, fixtures that were never right, or a look you can't quite name.
You get a written plan
Within 3 business days, a room-by-room lighting plan lands in your inbox — fixture recommendations, placement notes, bulb temperature guidance, and next steps.

Time beyond 90 minutes is billed at $200 per hour, the same rate.
After the visit
The written plan is yours to run with. Most people take it to their own electrician, or handle the lamp and bulb changes themselves over a weekend. Nothing further is required.

What happens during the visit?
We walk the space with you, in daylight and after dark if possible, and talk through what's working and what isn't — the mood you're after, how you actually use each room, and what's been bothering you about the current lighting.
Do you install the fixtures?
No. The consultation gives you a written, room-by-room plan — fixture recommendations, placement notes, and bulb temperature guidance. You or your electrician handle the install. We can recommend trusted electricians if you need one.
Is this different from the free Discovery Call?
Yes. The Discovery Call is a free 20-minute conversation to see if we're a fit. The Lighting Consultation is a paid, in-person visit focused specifically on lighting — you'll want the Discovery Call first if you're not sure lighting is the right starting point for your project.
Do you work with smart or app-controlled lighting?
Yes, if that's the direction you want. We'll talk through it during the visit and note it in your written plan alongside standard fixture and placement recommendations.
