A 90-minute in-home consultation before you start collecting bids. You leave with a written Remodeling Roadmap — what to build, roughly what it should cost, and what order to do it in.
Most people call three contractors with a rough idea and a folder of saved photos, then get three bids that can't be compared because each one solved a slightly different problem. The cheapest one usually wins, and the differences show up later.
Brandon has been on both sides of that. He sells and manages renovations day to day, and built them before that. He knows what work actually costs around here, which decisions get expensive once the walls are open, and which ones people end up regretting.
Britten reads how the finished space will function once you're living in it — the part that quietly disappears when a project gets planned around a budget instead of around a life.
You don't need to arrive knowing what you want. Working that out is the point of the visit.
This is a paid, in-person visit, not a sales call. Here's exactly what it includes.
Best booked before you've committed to anything — a contractor, a layout, or a number. The earlier it happens, the more it's worth.
We walk the space
Room by room. The parts that bother you, the parts that work, what you're hoping to change, and what's likely hiding behind the walls.
We work through the real questions
Layout options, storage, structure, what's feasible and what isn't. Where the budget should go, where it usually gets wasted, what's worth hiring out, and what you could reasonably take on yourself.
You get a written roadmap
Within 3 business days: recommended direction, budget considerations, the questions that still need answering, priorities, sequencing, and what to have settled before you ask anyone for a bid.

$300 90 minutes on site
Time beyond 90 minutes is billed at $200 per hour, the same rate. Anything further — drawings, 3D models, specifications — is quoted and agreed before we start.
After the visit
The roadmap is yours. Take it to any contractor you like and run the project yourself. Nothing further is required, and plenty of people stop here.

We have referral arrangements with some of the partners we recommend. We'll always tell you when that's the case, and we recommend the one that fits your project rather than the one that pays us.
What if we already have a contractor?
That's fine, and often better. The roadmap gives both of you the same picture to work from, which is usually where projects start to drift.
How is this different from a free contractor estimate?
A contractor prices what you asked for. This works out what you should be asking for. Different job, and a different incentive behind it.
Do you do the construction?
Usually not. We hand a finished plan to your builder. On select projects we take on coordination or implementation, and we'll tell you honestly whether yours is one of them.
Is it worth it for a small project?
For a single room with a clear scope, often not — book a free Discovery Call and we'll tell you straight. It earns its keep when the project is large, unclear, or when the people involved don't agree yet.
What if we're not ready to start for a year?
That's a good time to do this. Knowing what you're building well ahead of time makes budgeting and timing far easier, and it costs nothing to sit on a plan.
