Most of our work has come through relationships with people already in the trade, and we’d rather build that deliberately than hope for it. There are two sides to it, and they’re separate arrangements.

Trade partners
Every consultation ends with recommendations, and a good share of those are things we don’t build ourselves — cabinetry, closets, electrical, landscape, masonry. We keep a short list of people we trust and send work to them under a simple agreement.
We tell clients plainly when we have a referral arrangement with someone we’re recommending, and we recommend the partner that fits the project rather than the one that pays us. That’s the only way this works long-term for anyone involved.
