You don't need to know what the solution is. That's what the consultation is for. Each one is a fixed price for a fixed amount of time, in your home, and each one ends with a written plan you can act on — with us, with someone else, or on your own.

Staying involved through the build so decisions stay consistent with the vision. When questions come up in the field — and they always do — we’re the reference point that keeps things from drifting.
At the end of every consultation, you receive a written plan — a document that captures what the space needs to do, who it needs to do it for, and what a realistic path forward looks like.

What areas do you serve?
We work throughout Southeast Michigan, including Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Metro Detroit, Dearborn, Canton, Plymouth, Saline, Chelsea, and Pinckney.
Do you do lighting design?
Yes. Britten trained specifically in architectural lighting design, and we offer a dedicated Lighting Consultation — a 90-minute in-home visit followed by a written, room-by-room lighting plan with fixture recommendations. See our Lighting Consultation page for pricing and what's included.
How much does a consultation cost?
Every focused consultation is $300 and covers 90 minutes on site. The Whole-Home Harmony Consultation is $1,200 for approximately four hours with both of us. Time beyond the booked window is billed at $200 per hour, the same rate. A written plan is included in every one, and anything beyond the consultation is quoted and agreed before we start.
Are you architects or contractors?
No. We're a design and consultation studio, not licensed architects or a volume construction company. On most projects we hand a finished plan to your builder rather than building it ourselves. See What We Are / What We're Not on our About page for the full picture.

How long does a project take?
